Sustainability Week Event in Pokémon Go

Details for the upcoming Sustainability week in game event have been announced! The following will be happening in game from Tuesday, April 20th – Sunday April 25th:

  • Binacle will start appearing in the wild!
  • Shiny Trubbish will be possible as well!
  • Grimer, Drilbur, Trubbish, Ferroseed, and more will appear in the wild
  • Diglett, Tangela, Goldeen, Budew, Cherubi, Finneon, and Drilbur will be in the 5km egg pool
  • Vileplume, Alolan Exeggutor, Trubbish, Binacle, and more will appear in raids
  • There will be themed Field and Timed Research tasks
  • All players will get a free T-Shirt in the in-game shop

Niantic is also launching a real world “clean up” program that will encourage people to complete real world activations to unlock in game rewards! Details are at Niantic’s blog but a summary is down below:

  • Tier 1 (2,500 Activations) – More 5 Star Raids
  • Tier 2 (5,000 Activations), a Free Bundle with 3 Remote Raid Passes will also be available
  • Tier 3 (10,000 Activations) – 2x Catch Experience Bonus

Go Battle League Season 7 “Combined” PVP Leagues will start April 5 1PM PDT to April 12 1PM PDT. This will be a combination of the Great League, Great League Remix, Ultra League, Ultra League Premier Cup and Master League, Master League Classic ranked play.
Great League Remix will ban the 10 most popular Pokemon from play, but no word yet on which ten will not be allowed.
The Master League Classic Cup will not allow Pokemon that have been powered up with XL Candies

April 2: Magikarp and the Easter Exclusive Pokémon have left Wild Area Raids to be replaced with Ditto, Centiskorch and others. More Details to come!

Pokemon Go April Calendar has been announced!

March is coming to a close, and Niantic has released the schedule for April’s events in Pokemon Go!

  • Male Frillish will be in Research Breakthroughs for the entire month of April
  • New GO Rocket Timed Research will begin April 1st
  • Giovanni will now have Shadow Zapdos
  • Spotlight Hours (6pm local time) for Buneary and 2x Transfer Candy (April 6th) Mankey and 2x Evolve XP (April 13th), Grimer with 2x Stardust when catching pokemon (April 20th), and Finneon with 2x Catching XP (April 27th)
  • Therian Forme of Tornadus debuts in 5 Star Raids from March 30th – April 13th
  • Therian Forme of Landorus debuts in 5 Star Raids from April 14th – April 27th
  • Incarnate Forme of Landorus, Thundurus, and Tornados beginning April 27th (Shinies possible for all three)
  • Free Bundles will appear in the shop starting every Monday, which will include a Raid Pass and other items
  • Raid Hour every Wednesday from 6-7pm
  • Spring into Spring research event (April 4th – 8th): Happiny, Chansey, and Blissey w/ Flower Crowns will spawn and other Spring-themed surprises
  • Snivy Community Day will be on April 21st
  • Rivals’ Week (April 13th – 18th): Rival Pokemon will be featured including the debut of new Pokemon, TBA
  • Sustainability Week (April 20th – 25th): Pokemon like Grimer and Trubbish appearing in the wild
  • Friendship Day (April 24th), Details to come
  • An event around release of Pokemon Snap is also being hinted at, called a “Snappy Event” that will take place at the end of April. Pokemon Snap is scheduled to release April 30th!

Rayquaza Raid Weekend March 27-28

  • Rayquaza and Therian Forme Thundurus will be appearing in 5 Star raids
  • Any Rayquaza caught will know the Charge Move Hurricane
  • There will be a chance for Shiny Rayquaza
  • Catching Rayquaza will Guarantee XL candies
  • Since Rayquaza is a Dragon type it will count towards Shiny Mew special research

In Pokemon Go:

Gible has been added to Pokemon Go Research rewards for the month of March

Go Rocket Special Research: Giovanni is back and now has a Shadow Articuno that can be caught once he’s been beaten

Weekly Free Bundles will be appearing in the Shop including 10 Ultra balls, 10 razz berries and a remote raid pass

Season of Legends begins today and runs through June. New 5 star bosses will appear in raids, new Mega Raid Bosses and new research rewards and new Pokemon are expected to appear

Mega Blastoise and Mega Ampahros will be appearing in Mega Raids starting today

Incarnate form Landorus will be appearing in 5 Star raids starting today at 10am local time until March 6th

Tuesday March 2nd will have a Krabby Spotlight hour with increased Krabby Spawns and 2x Candies for transferring Pokemon

Wednesday March 3rd will have a 5 Star Raid Hour at 6pm Local Time with increased Incarnate form Landorus raids

A Go Rocket Raid Hour will take place at 6pm local time with increased Go Rocket Balloon spawns

Saturday March 6th is Fletchling Community Day from 11am-5pm local time, with increased Fletchling spawns and more shiny chances

Incarnate Form Tornadus will take over five star raids during the Fletchling Community Day
