Go Fest 2021 details!

Niantic has released the full rundown of the Go Fest 2021 events! Starting with a lower priced ticket ($5 down from $15), trainers can expect all sorts of goodies! Details below:

Day 1: July 17th 10am – 6pm

All Trainers (Including non ticketed players)

  • There will be 4 hourly habitats rotating through the day (Jungle, Desert Mountain, Ocean Beach, and Cave)
  • Wild spawns will include Chimecho, Kricketot, Audino, new costumed Pikachu, Scyther, Aipom, Froakie, Skarmory, Shieldon, Hippopotas, Dratini, Swablu, Alomomola, Roggenrola, Galarian Stunfisk, Deino, and more
  • Raids will feature Hitmontop, Cranidos, Deino, and Galarian Ponyta and Zigzagoon w/ costumes
  • Shiny Whismur, Chimecho, Audino, and Tympole will make their debuts during this event!

Ticket Holders

  • Exclusive Special Research rewarding a Meloetta, shirt, and avatar pose
  • Choose pop or rock paths for unique music and costumed Pokemon
  • 4 Collection Challenges + Global Challenges each hour for bonuses
  • Incense spawning Unown F & G, Ludicolo, Chatot, Leafeon, Serperior, Flareon, Tyranitar, Flygon, Throh, Gyrados, Vaporeon, Azumarill, Sawk, Umbreon, Gardevoir, Absol, and Galvantula
  • Debut of Shiny Unown F, Throh, and Sawk
  • Increased chance to encounter Shiny Pokemon (better chances on Saturday)

Day 2: July 18th 10am – 6pm

  • Raids will be the primary focus on the second day of the event
  • Day 1 wild Pokemon will be spawning throughout Day 2

From Tuesday, March 16th 10am – Monday, March 22nd 8pm a Charge Up! Event will be taking place in Pokemon Go which will have the following bonuses:

  • The debut of Tynamo, the Electric Fish Pokémon
  • Alolan Geodude, Voltorb, Electrike, Stunfisk, Tynamo, and more will be appearing in the wild
  • Pichu, Elekid, Electrike, Shinx, Joltik, Tynamo, and Stunfisk can hatch from 5km eggs
  • Voltorb, Shinx, Blitzle, Klink, Tynamo, Alolan Raichu, Alolan Graveler, Magneton, Ampharos, Therian Forme Thundurus will be appearing in raids
  • The debut of Mega Manectric in Mega Raids
  • Additional event-themed Field and Timed Research
  • A higher chance of evolution items when opening gifts

This Week in Pokémon: March 8th 2021

Pokémon Go:

  • ONGOING: Gible in Research Rewards for the month of March
  • ONGOING: Shadow Articuno can be freed from Giovanni
  • ONGOING: Season of Legends continues until June
  • ONGOING: Mega Blastoise, Pidgeot and Ampharos in Mega Raids until March 16
  • Incarnate Form Tornadus is in Five Star Raids as of March 6th
  • A new “Free Bundle” is in the Shop, including: One Remote Raid Pass, 10 Ultra Balls and 10 Razz Berries
  • This week’s Spotlight hour will be Drowzee and 2x Transfer candies (Tuesday March 9th at 6pm local)
  • A 5 Star Raid hour will take place Wednesday March 10th at 6pm local
  • Incarnate Form Thundorus will take over 5 Star Raids on Thursday March 11
  • A Mega Bonus Hour will take place Thursday March 11th. If you Mega Evolve a Pokémon during that time, Pokémon sharing the same type will give you additional Mega Evolution candies when caught

Pokémon Sword/Shield:

  • ONGOING: Fighting and Fairy type Pokémon in Wild Area Raids
  • The Next Online Competition has been declared the Spikemuth Cup. Players have until March 18th to sign up for the single elimination event. Pokémon Limited to Galarian Pokémon as well as an in Tourney restricted list (NO DYNAMAXING).
